The Smartphone App Known As iButterfly (Philippines)

Hello everyone,

Last Friday (June 8) I was invited to go to an event at Megamall, it was the iButterfly catch-up event that was held at the Atrium, with special guests like Tim Yap, Tessa-Prieto Valdez, Jenni Epperson, and more (I don’t know who any of those people are). The poster said that the event would start at 3pm, I left the place at 4:25pm and the event had not started yet. I think it started at 5pm. And I got word that my name was called because I had won something… lesson leaned: don’t leave so early, or just get there late!

iButterfly is a smartphone app that helps customers experience a new and fun way to shop, it uses 3 technologies:  Augmented Reality, for seeing the iButterflies in the real world, Motion Sensors for catching iButterflies using your phone and your phone’s Global Positioning System or GPS for finding where the iButterflies are.  It is definitely a unique way of enjoying promos from partner stores within the participating malls.

Hello everyone! It’s been 2 or 3 weeks since my last post, I’ve been really busy with work and family during that time, but today I have time to write… so here it is!


Today I want to talk about goals. I don’t think I’ll be staying at my current job for a long time so I’ve been contemplating on other things to do. I might even trying some ideas to go along with my (uninteresting) blog to make it more interesting.


Also today I learned about a site called Pinstagram (ah, play on words)! Yes, a site that has mixed Pinterest (which I don’t use) and Instagram (which I use a lot). It’s Instagram in your web browser with the layout of Pinterest. If you would like to check it out, here is a link: http://www.pinstagram.co. I don’t know if you need to have an existing Instagram account, but you definitely need one to sign in. It can also be integrated with your Facebook account to show which photos you like. Personally, I don’t know if I’m ever going to use that feature. With that, if you do visit the link (and this blog site), tell me what you think.
